ROBUSTO RELEASE 108D is used as a release agent for most types of formwork allowing for easy stripping of formwork and improving concrete finish.

• Surface Preparation: Formwork must be cleaned of surface deposits, rusts, concrete, oil or other materials. Inadequate cleaning may lead to surface blemishes. Coating may timber formwork with a polyurethane sealer will protect the formwork, increase service life and improve concrete surface finish.
• New Moulds: No preparation is normally necessary unless metal moulds show signs of rust, then these must be wire brushed or treated with emery cloth and burnished clean before coating.
• Used Moulds: Must be thoroughly cleaned and free from old concrete, dirt, cement, laitance, old mould oil and grease, settles for cement and concrete deposits.

Apply ROBUSTO RELEASE 108D on to the face of the formwork by spray, brush or sponge. Only one coat should be applied (as thinly as possible except on very absorbent new timber where two coats may be necessary for the first application only) and allow to dry.

Only if the formwork is not used for several days, a further coat may be applied.

Only a very thin film of ROBUSTO RELEASE 108D should be applied. Excess could lead to surface dusting of dusting of the concrete. The best results are obtained by applying with a fine mist sprayer. Where a cloth is used, it should first be soaked in the release agent and then squeezed out well before re-applying, this ensures a thinnest possible film

• Drying Time:It is essential that the ROBUSTO RELEASE 108D coating is thoroughly dried before placing concrete, otherwise its performance may be impaired. In conditions of high humidity drying time will be much longer than in warm dry conditions.
• Rainfall:It is necessary to protect freshly coated formwork from rain which may dilute the emulsion before it has dried. Once dried the coating will withstand an occasional light shower but may be affected by heavy or continuous rain. In such cases, a further coat is advised once surface has dried out thoroughly.
• De-moulding: De-moulding can be carried out in the normal way and no special precautions are necessary.
• After De-moulding: Formwork surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned, but this is normally easy due to the excellent release action.
• Before Re-Use: The cleaned formwork surfaces must be recoated with ROBUSTO RELASE 108D each time, in accordance with normal practice

30-70 m 2 /liter depending on type, quality and absorption of formwork

ROBUSTO RELASE 108D is available in 50 Liter cane and 200 Liter drum supply

ROBUSTO RELEASE 108D should be stored under cover at a minimum ambient temperature of 50C.

ROBUSTO RELEASE 108D has a shelf -life of 12 months from the date of manufacture if stored in proper conditions and sealed drums.

If these conditions are exceeded, RCPL’s Technical Department should be contacted for further advice.

Contact with skin, eyes or mucous membrane may cause irritation. Wear suitable gloves and eye protection. Accidental skin contact should wash with soap and water. ROBUSTO RELEASE 108D is solvent based mould release agent and it’s flammable. Do not expose to naked flame or other sources of ignition.
